I don't remember the terrible two's being this terrible but at the same time I do remember this feeling of anxiety. I sometimes feel like I need to give my 2 1/2 year old to a convent for 2 years so that she can grow out of this stage and live through it. She is more stubborn and obstenant than any of my other 3 kids ever were, although, my eitght year old was fairly close. I do know that none of them would ever refuse to eat altogether. And while she is so stubborn, she is also so stinking cute that it's hard to stay mad. She's pretty dang funny, too.
Now we have Mr. Smarty Pants, the tween. He's only 11 but I'm convinced it starts as soon as they walk through the doors at middle school. I just need him to get his head screwed back on tight so that he can re-engage his brain. If we tell him to do something, the first thing out of his mouth is, no. The next time I'm liable to make him do write offs and after that he's going to become Amish. I could just drop him off with my cousins for a couple of weeks. He would come home from them with manors and respect. Okay, I'm dreaming on that one...haha! He's just started testing the waters but I've got to make sure that he knows he is NOT in control. This is Mama's house and if Mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy.
There are 2 more to go but we can chat about them another time.
For now, I'll leave you with this, given the most recent turn of events: Hate spreads hate and if Christians or Americans of any kind follow in their footsteps, then we have allowed them to win by turning us into their puppets.
Bed time...g'nite!
