Having just turned 40, I think it's time that I put on my big girl panties and start acting the way I know I should. I need to start speaking up for myself and not letting people push me around. I've pretty much been a pushover my whole life...Not anymore! I am ready to grow a backbone and start standing up for what I want in my life. I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings, but I'm tired of people ignoring mine. I just want to be allowed to be happy and I think that is my biggest desire. I want to be happy but even more importantly I want a happy family. It's time to make that happen. I will do whatever it takes from this point to make anyone, who gets in the way of my happiness, understand that I don't need any drama. I just want to enjoy the rest of my life with my family.
Well that's all I really have to say on that. I need to get to sleep. Have a good day today!

How far is Heaven?
I remember listening to my mom play the song "How Far is Heaven"...by Kitty Wells, when I was a little girl. She would talk about her daddy, whom she lost at the age of six. I didn't understand then just how sad that song really is, but now that I have lost my dad, it really hits home. I went to youtube.com to listen to that song and cried so hard. I really do wish my dad were here to give me support and a hug or even a kick in the pants when needed. I always depended on him when life threw me curve balls, to advise me, assist me or be my hero.
I don't have that wonderful man I called Dad anymore. God called him home on December 20th. I know that he will always be in my heart, giving me guidance, as I know deep down what he would say. I just wish I could have one more hug! How far is Heaven? Let's go tonight. I want my daddy to hold me tight.
The good news is that I finally know (without doubt) that I have the support, advice, grace and love of my Heavenly Father. Because I have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ I have all that I ever needed. He will guide me, protect me and surround me with His love, and I will trust in Him always.
